Well, exactly how port intensive is it? Personally I like to have at least one or two sea days to just kick back and relax. That being said, there are only a handful (mostly CCL) that are 100% ports. Personally, going to a different port everyday without a break gets boring; it leaves you little or no time to explore the ship itself or really get to know people. I like port intensive itineraries, just not 100% ports. I need my one or two sea days to relax.

If it’s the same itinerary we went on with Royal Caribbean, we only had one sea day (the last full day). The southern Caribbean islands were amazing (especially St. Lucia) and there was lots to do but we wanted more ship time too. So we are booked next time on an 8 day with only 4 ports and 3 sea days!

I dont think I would like a port heavy cruise. I mean I love exploring the islands and stuff but I also love to relax and just spend time with my friends on the ship.

The eastern/southern caribbean one looks kind of weak in terms of ports. 3 of the 4 ports are a bit less popular with the cruise lines than say St. Maarten. Personally, I'd go with the western. More places to go, more things to see. But keep in mind that sea intensive cruises (more sea days) are meant to give you time to enjoy the ship more than the ports. The ideal sea intensive cruise will have two things: an excellent ship, and excellent ports.

personally, i like port intensive cruises. The one i'm taking in 2 months. (carnival destiny) has a port every day. I've been on it before but not the same islands. I love being on the islands and that side of things. You may not met AS many people, but you will met people and you still are on the ship a lot.

I like being able to be on the islands and hangout and learn about their culture and stuff. I'm also 18 now so i can hangout in bars and stuff like that, so maybe thats why i like it more, but who knows. To each his own.

Either way cruises are fun. Have a good time.

I really think that I would get sick and tired of getting up every morning and having to go on the islands. Not getting to just chill out by the pool alll day with new people you meet. But I guess you have the night time for that....

i also thought i would get tiered of it, however since all the islands you go to your there for a long amount of time you don't have to wake up early all the time. I mean you can stay on the ship if you please.

personally, i like cruises with about the same amount of sea days and port days.... my next cruise (IN 6 DAYS!!!!!!!!) has 4 sea days, and 3 port days... i've never had that many sea days, but i love sea days so i don't think i'll care at all! my last cruise, (the legend) had only 2 days, and 4 port days but i was sick on one of them from drinking waaaay too much cuban rum the night before (which succcked so bad) and i didn't even get off the ship! i was so pissed that i missed costa maya. oh well... but personally i think 3 sea days & 3 or 4 port days are good.... i like it when you have a 2 port days at the end of your cruise to hang out with all your friends for a good amount of time!

don't worry. i remember Costa Maya from when i took the legend. I was really disappointed. Nothing like i had excepted, so you kinda picked the best port to miss. (even tho it stinks being hung over, the only downside to drinking a lot on cruises)

Days at Sea and personal island ports (Labadee, Cococay) are my favorite... I love it because everyone is on the ship and they have all the fun activities like dodgeball and belly flop and sexy legs contest.

On my last cruise (Libery of the Seas Feb. 2008) I didn't even get off the ship except for Labadee! I just love the ships that much.

I feel the same way Lizzie! I mean you only have 7 days with the people on the ship so you MUST make the most of them!
