Default Fire Proof Door and Room Decorations

Among the items listed in the new door decoration policy effective 31 Oct is listed "over the door organizers" and state that the organizers can only be used inside the stateroom. We have always used an over the door shoe bag when we cruise. Since it is made of plastic/vinyl you can easily see what is in each pocket. Does anyone know if these organizers will be banned for not being fireproof? The actual information from Carnival seemed a little vague. Thanks in advance for any info.

I think the restriction is only for door decorations. I can't imagine that over-the-door organizers inside the cabin would be banned.

Fern,
I fully agree with you. I was just curious what others thought about the article. And with all the current changes being made by all the cruise lines, not just Carnival, it made me wonder what next? Also I wondered if on one of the cruises some dingbat set fire to someone's door decoration as a joke. Any fire is no joke. Anyway thanks for your response.

I think they might be banned.

  • Over-the-door hanging organizers must hang inside the stateroom, must also be of fire retardant material and cannot damage the door

Well, that is how I read it. I guess I'll just wait until after November cruises to see what folks say. Seems silly to ban them but stranger things have happened.

Default Follow Up on Over the Door Organizers

Ok. It has been over a month since the rules went into effect concerning non-flammable door decorations. Included in the list was over the door organizers if they were not fire proof. Has anyone been told to remove the door organizers? We like the organizers for all the small stuff that we would usually stuff in the desk drawer and then forget where we put them. Getting old doesn't help either!

Thanks.

I think over the door anythings can damage the doors. I decided to hang from the ceilings.
