Default What cruise lines should I consider

Hi,

I am flying to Vegas for 5 days in January and want to surprise my wife with our first cruise at the end of our trip. ( seems like a waste to fly from Europe to Vegas for just 5 days!)

I've been looking at lots of cruise lines and cruises and have narrowed my choice down to 7 and 5 day cruises from princess and celebrity leaving Miami or FT lauderdale on the 17th or 18th of January .

I feel these suit what we would enjoy a bit more than carnival or RCL, as we are looking for romantic cruise with a good choice of restaurant and bars..

I am sure I may have missed a few other cruise lines that will be suitable.. Any advice or tips?

I have to agree with you, I think either Celebrity or Princess would be what you are looking for, however, I would look more at the 7 day cruises. You would have much more choices that way and since you are already in the states, more of a value cruise doing a 7 day cruise over 5 days. In the meantime, I would look at the different ships and ports of call and see what you like best, then contact a good cruise travel agent. Let us know what you finally choose, good luck.

Obviously, I'm prejudice on the matter, but I have to agree with Donna. Talk to a good agent, preferably a Cruise Specialist, as their help can be invaluable when helping to find the right cruise for you. They charge nothing for their services and often can offer some deals for you. Keep in mind that everyone is different and what one person likes another will hate.

With that said, I would agree that you would like Celebrity and Princess, but I would also throw Holland America in the mix. Of course, Celebrity and Holland have an older demographics than Princess, so that might play in your decision depending on your age.

There are definitely some wonderful cruises available for you and I know you'll find something that will match your lifestyle, budget, and requirements.

That's interesting about the age demographics, we are both early 50's but probably act and behave like mid 30's

I'll let you guys know what we choose, we are heading off on vacation later this week so will sort everything out on our return..

I am assuming booking mid November for a mid January cruise isn't an issue

Since you mentioned, being very active, then don't rule out Royal Caribbean, their ships offer a wide selection of onboard activities....No, you should be fine booking in November for a Jan. cruise, keep us posted and enjoy your vacation.

Hi there!

There are plenty of cruise lines for romance. Heck you can even get married on a cruise ship!

I would definitely suggest princess for romantic and I would suggest going for one of the smaller ships for more intimacy. You might even want to try msc as they are very good for romantic holidays.

Recently I did an interview with a tv presenter from the holiday and cruise channel all about first time cruisers you might want to check it out? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acCCGB7lSe4

hope it all goes well!

I would opt for the Celebrity Solstice class ships, if they fall into your port of choice, and time frame..upscale hotel decor, with a beautiful pool and spa, perhaps for a couples massage...to me this class of ship just has a different feeling, which we really enjoyed.

I agree with Trip. If you want a really nice cruise with great food and a beautiful ship, it's really tough to beat the Solstice-class ships of the Celebrity fleet.

You didn't say how old you are, but Celebrity caters to a bit older crowd and princess to those who are a bit younger, both are great cruise lines!! You might also want to consider Holland America which also caters to slightly older cruisers. which ever you choose, you will have a great time.
