Default RCCL Removes Corkage Fees!

Just saw on Twitter that Royal Caribbean has removed their corkage fees.

While you can still only bring 2 bottles of wine or champagne per stateroom onboard, it use to be that if you opened them in any public area, including the dining room, you were subject to a $25 corkage fee. According to RCCL, this is no longer their policy.

Good thing for those of us who like to bring a bottle of wine onboard and have it during dinner!

From what I understand it is still unofficial. Apparently its being reported by some Cruise Critic members but RCCL has yet to say anything as far as I know.

I wish I had more concrete proof, but this came from RCCL's own Twitter account. I also have friends of mine in the business who got notification from their Business Development Managers (BDM's) at RCCL.

So this is not just 'gossip' from that other forum that is always full of gossip.

I will still bring a couple bottles of wine onboard but I don't remove them from my stateroom. I buy a bottle of wine at dinner. They gotta make some money on me!

Directly from the RCCL website;

Food & Beverage

Q: Does Royal Caribbean charge a corkage fee?

A: No. Guests wishing to bring personal wine and champagne onboard may do so only on boarding day, limited to two (2) 750 ml bottles per stateroom. No beer or hard liquor may be brought onboard for consumption.

Additional bottles of wine beyond two (2) bottles that are brought onboard or any alcoholic beverages purchased in ports of call or from onboard shops during the cruise vacation will be stored onboard and delivered to guest staterooms on the last day of the sailing.
