Default Harmony Of The Seas is 3rd Oasis-class name

This morning at the C&A meeting aboard Oasis, the Captain announced that Harmony Of The Seas will be the 3rd Oasis-class ship name.

I really like that name. It will suit her well. The bigger question is will she be based in the Mediterranean or another Oasis Class in the Caribbean?
With the last 2 years of Oasis and Allure having refit in Europe and then doing a couple of cruises around the Med, I felt that this was a trial to see if they could fit in ports and if people wanted it.
If demand was great and these cruises sold out, then a ship based in the med for the Summer months would be brilliant and I would be booking for it now.
It could also replace Anthem, if she is going to the states to replace Quantum.
We could even have a cruisemates European tour meet up on her. Now that would be awesome!!

Dave - are you on Oasis right now? Or did you just hear this.

you know what - while it isn't a "wow, great name" name - at least it is a good name, simple and easy to remember. I like it for that.

I don't like when they try too hard - like "adventurer of the seas" or Qsine of the Seas (not a real name)

I'm indifferent about the name truthfully.
Definitely doesn't WOW me but I'm not cringing either.

I am not aboard Oasis. A friend of mine is however, and she said the Captain announced the new name at the Crown & Anchor member meeting yesterday morning. Others who were in attendance have reported the same thing on other boards. I trust my source, but of course it's not written down on RCI press releases yet.

So, we move forward to today and in a live Q&A with "that other website" Michael Bayley said they won't officially announce the new name until later this month and to him it is still "Oasis 3". So did the Captain jump the gun? Was he not being serious? Did he mistakenly think he was cleared to announce the name? RCI owns the copyright for Harmony Of The Seas and some other names too.

If Harmony of the Seas is the name of the new Oasis class ship then I think it works well. Now I have another reason (as if I needed one) to cruise.

Beyond the name I am more interested in what the 3rd Oasis will have aboard that is different from the other two ships. I think it is supposed to be a bit wider, but I want to see if any new dining venues are added, perhaps some different WOW stuff, maybe a different layout inside.

A number of previous sources indicated Oasis III would be built with the very same blueprint as its previous 2 brethren.

However, the onboard elements/design were going to have some modifications from the other 2 twins.

Based on where the build process is at this time...in another 30-60 days...potentially a lot more could be known.

The official announcement came today and it is indeed Harmony Of The Seas. Also, the ship will have the first adult-sized water slides for any Royal Caribbean ship. No doubt someone has been looking closely at the popularity of the slides on Carnival and Norwegian ships.

I hear from the grapevine that RC is finally adding a water park with water slides to this ship. They need to in order to compete with NCL and Carnival; but some here may suggest they aren't competing with these companies.
