Is water allowed in any of the ports? I was planning on bring a sports bottle filled with water but I do not want to cause any problems. Also, is water from the ports allowed back on the ship? Thanks!!

If I understand right, you want to fill up your water container in port and bring it back on the ship. I highly suggest that you purchase closed water bottles in port. Do not fill up at a local place. You really don't want to do that. Or.. fill up your container on the ship (its filtered) and carry it with you when you want a drink.

If you drink any water from most of the ports you may get a funny feeling in you stomach and other parts of the body. The people in the us drink chlorinated water from the spiggot or bottled water The people drinking from the city water systems know they are safe. Other countrys , well you can get , giardia, diahrrea and possibly carry a parasite home with you and not know it for some time. Drink bottled water and ALSO
WATCH THE ICE IN FOREIGN COUNTRYS IT IS MADE FROM WATER. I have been in the public health field for 37 yrs , and i am very careful what i eat and drink outside of the US. Believe me i found out the hard way. Bob[/b] |

I drink the water in the ports and never had a problem. It depends on which ports you're going to. If you are going to Cozumel, the water in all their bars and restaurants is purified. If you're going to Belize, I would drink bottled water.
But, just take your own bottle, fill it up on the ship from the Buffet area and you'll be fine.
