Default Port Everglades Parking

My husband and I have a cruise scheduled this Summer on the Freedom. We were planning on flying to Ft.Lauderdale but right now tickets are running nearly $400pp (I just flew roundtrip to Ft.Lauderdale in Jan for less than $150 so this increase is unreal). If we don't see this cost come down we are considering to drive to the port, so because of this, I am looking for any information/helpful hints regarding this port. Can anyone tell me if the parking is easy to get to? Can you walk from the parking lot to the terminal with your luggage or do you need to take a shuttle from the parking lot. I'm sure we will stay the night before at a hotel in Ft.Lauderdale so does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel that might allow free parking and provide a shuttle to/from the port?

Thanks!!!

You can also try this:

Port Everglades Cruise Parking - Fort Lauderdale Port Parking by Park 'N Fly

We have used them many times and have never had any problems.

I have stayed at the Rodeway, where you can park for free and they have shuttles as well.
We will be staying there again for our april cruise.

Parking is USUALLY (I've had 'em shuttle me once at Port Everglades) right across the parking lot from the ship. VERY convenient, and cost has been $15 per day. If I were you, I'd look into the hotels that allow parking there, with a shuttle. You'll probably come out better, but not quite as convenient.
Have a GREAT cruise.

Parking at Port Everglades is not my favorite.....

that is why we always stay at the Hampton Inn in Plantation and they provide free parking and a free shuttle to the port.

Now we do take a taxi back to the hotel to get the car, because we don't want to have to wait for a shuttle when we get off the ship....and for the live of me ..I can't remember how much it was.

We usually stay at the LaQuinta, Airport, on 26th Street. They offer a shuttle from the airport (if you decide to fly) to the hotel and from the hotel to the ship. They also have free cruise parking and are close to Oakwood Plaza, a large shopping center with restaurants and a Kmart.

Here's the link to their website:La Quinta Inn & Suites Fort Lauderdale Hotel - Airport

We've also stayed at Hampton Inn and thought it was fine.

We've never taken a taxi after a cruise, but I believe I've seen people post that the fare is about $12.00+tip. It's about a 10 minute ride to either hotel or to the airport.

Default a few options

For the official parking you are looking at about $19 per day. There a few hotels where you can park for the duration of cruise for a reduced fee as long as you stay the night before. Or there is parking for under $10 per with portparking.net.

I guess that it's easier than to come up with new questions.

Go on to stay123 website. Thats what I am using for my cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale. Since parking can cost up to 7 dollars a day. Its a great deal to go this way. I have booked a decent DaysInn for $119.00 for a 1 night stay with free parking for 7 days and free shuttle to and from the port. I have used this service out of Tampa on a cruise and it worked fine. So I am hoping this one in April works as well.

Happy sailing,

Renee'

I can try to answer this question. On many sites you're not supposed to start a new thread if there's an older one still going. On other's, you aren't supposed to bring up an "old" thread concerning the subject instead of starting a new thread. It just depends on the way the site is run.

It's hard to know what to do!
