Default Thinking really really hard on locations!!

Hubby wants to go on a cruise in October( Our Anniversary). We are thinking about (1) Oct 19. ( 5 days)Carnival Destiny, Grand Turk, Half Moon cay,Nassau. Back to Miami...

Or (2)Facination Oct 31 ( 5 days) Half Moon Cay, and Nassau. I know theres only 2 stops. NOt sure how I feel about that, however the kids will be at home The theres

(3)Destiny Oct 24 (5 days)again, Ocho Rios,Grand Cayman. Back to Miami Then...

(4) Liberty, Oct 31
Nassau,St.Thomas,SanJuan Grand Turks (7 days), sooooooo I dont know what to do . I know 1 things for sure, I dont care about room type. This will be cruise number 3 Im leaning towards Number. Can I have some valuable input plz? TY Happy Sailing

My honest opinion, is to pick the Liberty, a newer ship, and, go for the 7 days... you won't be disappointed on the ship or the extra 2 days! I will be on that cruise on Oct. 1st....can't wait!

If you do 5 days it is absolutely #1. Go for 7 days if circumstances will allow but #1 is by far my pick for the 5 day. 8)

Here's the thing. If you are interested in ports of call definitely do the seven day cruise. The cay and Grand Turk are mostly for cruise ship only while Jamaica and Grand Cayman are places of interest (historical, local flavor, etc). If you just want to get away for a few days than either, or ! In my opinion Nassau is a dump-go to Paradise Island, a quick taxi ride.

HI sink;

I would try and do the seven night. I do also agree w/Scurvy that the five night (1) is a great cruise. That is our favorite "short cruise". I think
you win with either one!!!

Let us know what you decide.

I too agree with the others. Do the "Liberty", much nicer ship IMO, and two extra GLORIOUS days aboard. If you MUST do a five day, then I agree that the #1, Destiny, is the best of the 5 days.

See you aboard,

Ken

What I like doesn't matter...it's what YOU TWO enjoy that matters.
Never been to Grand Turk.
Half Moon Cay is a great beach day. To me it has been the best day at the beach of them all.
Nassau, San Juan, St Thomas, and San Juan all offer a nice variety of options. It's all what one makes of it.
Grand Cayman, has lovely water but can be boring on land with the exception of shopping.
Jamaica offers some fun things to do, but one must stay on the beaten path.
If I were to book ....then #4 wins hands down.

Without knowing you or your preferences, I agree with doing the seven day. You can stay in touch via internet on board for very little expense and those 2 extra days become pure luxury.

I'm always gonna lean towards a 7 day over 5 if given the option. Plus I adore San Juan and St. Thomas. The forts and mofungo in San Juan (although I've always wanted to do the bioluminescence ?sp canoe trip but missed it due to port times). Megan's Bay in St. Thomas is truly one of the best beaches in the world. It's always on the top 10 beaches list on Travel and Discovery. I agree.

Whichever you choose, you can't go wrong with cruising for 'quality time' together

Have fun!

Any cruise at all gets my vote. Suprised nobody said it. Cruising beats working and traffic blah blah blah.

I think you'll be happy with your decision to sail on the Liberty. We love the Liberty...great ship, fun decor and I found the food to be a notch better than other Carnival ships I have sailed on. Don't forget to bring a costume if you'd like to participate in the Halloween fun aboard. We sailed on the Halloween cruise last year and had a blast. I was happy to see that most of the passengers dressed up for the evening in very original costumes and decorated their doors and staterooms for Halloween. Before the cruise, we visited Party City and picked up some great decorations for our door and put together some costumes that were easy to pack (I was Pippi Longstocking, ha!). We were so glad we made the effort, it was so much fun.

I would go for the 7 day,
We have taken 4 day cruises, and I am never ready to get off the ship after 4 days.

Actually...I never really want to leave the ship after 7 either, but they make me.
