Default Bug Spray?

A few people have suggested bringing bug spray on my cruise.

Is it really necessary? What kind of bugs should I expect (Eastern Caribbean cruise)?

Unless you are going to the interior of any of the islands it is not needed. However, it can never hurt to have it. Use a spray that contains DEET for the best repellent.

Take care,
Mike

I used to take it along but now I do not bother
Unless you are going into the bush you probably will not use it
wear long sleeves at dusk if ashore

YMMV

I have been on several Caribbean cruises and never used any bug spray.

As Mike said, unless you're going to inland, you don't have to worry about it. Most of the time, your time in port is during the day and it's not a problem.
