Port to Airport travel time

I’m looking into a Norwegian cruise from July 13-22, 2019. The itinerary states that the ship docks on July 22 in Copenhagen at 7:00 AM. Would I be able to get to the Copenhagen airport in time for a 10:55 AM flight? Thanks.

Personally, if it was me, I would not suggest doing that. While it could work out just fine, what if the ship arrived a bit late or if airport security was crowded? Just because the ship is scheduled to arrive at 7:00am, you may not actually be able to get off the ship until 8:00am or 9:00am - then what?

You want to always allow at least 2 hours after arriving at the airport before the flight leaves, just to be on the safe side.

Why ruin a perfect great vacation by having to stress and worry about getting off the ship and hurrying to get to the airport.

But if everything worked out perfectly and you were able to be one of the first ones off the ship, then you might get lucky.

Your choice.

I have to agree with the previous reply about the number of things that could go wrong. Even if you are able to self-debark at Copenhagen and use the rapid transit system from the city centre to the aipor - which is far quicker than the coach/cab transfer and avoids what will be rush-hour traffic - a 2 to 3-hour check-in (unless you can check-in online) along with airport security, would make me very nervous

You also have to consider what you would do if there was a delay in docking, or getting passenger immigration clearance into Denmark allowing you to leave the ship.

If you do book a taxi in advance, please make certain that the driver knows the ship details, as there are 2 (well up to 4 including small ships) docks that are used in Copenhagen, the traditional one at Langelinie is much closer than the new docks at Nordhavnen, but more & more of the ships are using Nordhavnen, especially if this is a turn-around port, so you want to make sure the cab is waiting at the correct dock.

If you are defintely tied to that flight, you may even want to research leaving the cruise at the previous port & heading straight to Copenhagen if that's possible.

Usually the cruise lines don't recommend booking a flight before noon. I have been on ships where I have been off and at the airport by 9 am, in plenty of time. But there have also been times where I have had a 1:00 pm flight, and didn't get to the airport until about 11:30. For me it's not worth the risk of missing my flight. Look into it, weigh the pros and cons, and see if there are later flights that you would be able to take if you would miss the early flight, then make the best choice for you! Good Luck!
