Carnival can be quite gay friendly, despite the stereotypes about their middle-America demographic. Their fun itineraries and good pricing are as a big draw to gay and lesbian cruisers as they are...

I called my agency's Celebrity rep and checked the CEL/RCCL TA website, and there's nothing about a delay mentioned anywhere. Usually, when there's this big of a change, they would have notified us...

It depends. It can be wonderful to smell the fresh sea air while you're sitting outside with a cup of coffee watching the sun come up, or with a glass of wine before dinner watching it go down or...

Unfortunately, if you have the 8 PM seating, you'll be in the aft dining room. In order to maintain the four dining times, they stagger the use of the dining rooms. 5:45 and 8 PM are seated in the...

I'm with whoever said I wish they wouldn't make me leave.

A few things: actually enforcing the adults-only hottub, particularly the one in the gym, which isn't supposed to admit anyone under...

I don't know about stories about lowly inside cabins to minisuites, but I can speak from personal experience that I had twelve clients who booked the least expensive inside rooms as a guarantee on...

You're going to have a wonderful time.

I did the Valor Eastern Caribbean itinerary last summer and had a blast. I'm a travel agent, and while I have been able to do several other cruise lines...

Does the Carnival Corp report break out reservations by line or just lump them all together? I wouldn't be surprised that overall reservations are up, since Europe and Alaska have been so incredibly...

My worst dinner companions have only been people to whom I've felt awkward attempting to converse with, so I guess I'm fortunate.

Of course, having read enough of these threads, I have to wonder...

Speaking as another TA, any agent worth his or her salt shouldn't be turning down a sale. That's just silly.

With that said, I'm not one to say that one line is objectively better than another. ...

Re: VOS Crybabies

Problems can and will happen throughout the year. Hurricane season just happens to be a lot more dramatic than other times.

Royal Caribbean made the choice to modify their itinerary. They didn't...

Re: A couple questions...AGAIN!

1. About the same as you'd pay for a nice bar on land. And just like a nice bar on land, they have drink specials daily. Mixed drinks will usually come in at about $5-6. I'm not a beer drinker,...

Re: Bermuda trip to Canada poorly executed

To the best of my memory, the price on the Canada cruises from Cape Liberty on the Voyager were a good deal less than what they've been charging for Bermuda. I can grant Frank a little license for...

Re: Bermuda trip to Canada poorly executed

Two points:

Re: Where else do you think the ship could go?

I still maintain that paying the fee for violating cabotage laws would have been less expensive in the long run that the PR black eye this has turned into.

I'll repeat what I've said...

Re: VOS Crybabies

Again, this is me speaking with my TA hat on--RCI was complete within its rights to switch the itinerary. It's on the ticket contract and there's no way what they did was in breach of that. ...

Re: Service is down

HAL has revised their tipping program to where it's like Carnival's where they charge your shipboard account the suggested amount, and then you may adjust it as you see fit. They used to be...

Re: Monarch Gripes

Because the markup on soda is so much higher than the markup on steak. If they've got the choice between selling 1000 sodas at 3500% more than cost versus selling 1000 steaks for a 15& one. Same...

They really do enforce it, at least nominally. When you guys check in, they give you a different color Sail and Sign card based on your age.

With that said, there are numerous reports of someone...

Re: Got My docs, but I'am not happy

Through automated booking software, you can cheat Carnival into allowing two people in a quad or triple cabin. Request cabin space for four, only put in two names, and you're good to go.

Most of...

Re: Got My docs, but I'am not happy

In 95% of circumstances, your room is guaranteed, unless you put yourself on the list for upgrades, which is a common practice with HAL and Princess. The only time where there's an exception to this...

Re: Princess has become a 2nd class cruise line

Forgive this, but I've always felt that money is not the ultimate determinate of someone's class. I find the idea that someone needs to have a credit check run and turn over his or her last three...
