Re: Carnival VS. RCL

I agree with Larry. I had to switch TA's and one is a friend. The friend couldn't beat the price of the other, so guess which one I chose?? They are professionals who should answer every question...

Re: Carnival Dedicates three ships to Hurricane

Carnival is showing what is means to be our brothers keeper. What does it matter about who is getting the money from whom?? Why can't we just put all that aside and be grateful that these...

Re: Carnival update 630pm 08/29/05

Hopefully all passengers find their cars without damage. Sometimes we have to think about others in times of disaster. We have cruised out of New Orleans and to think that the city has so much...

Re: Golden Princess in New Orleans?

We sailed on the Grandeur (RCCL) from New Orleans. It was great going up the Mississippi River. The Golden is a beautiful ship. We were on her in '03. Enjoy your cruise.

Re: Unruly Children

It all begins in the home!!!!! I have been on cruises where the children were unruly and the adults obnoxious. So who do you blame??? The poster who said not many children on 10 day cruises is...

Re: Next weeks cruises to Bermuda

Hope all of you make it safely to your destinations. Watching Irene closely and they say it may hit the Carolinas. That is where we are heading in 3 weeks. Kind of scary to take out hurricane...

Re: How far in advanced do you book

If we see a cruise we like while on the ship we book it. Our TA gets the credit. We usually are booking when we get home or sooner on the ship. I think we are "cruise junkies". Kids inheritence...

Re: So what if your itinerary changes???

If not the 25% (and I also think they should have) they could have given the passengers more than they did ship credit. We had a transformer blow on one cruise and were given the 25% on a future...

Re: steam irons - prohibited?

The laundry areas are on every floor. I actually used the laundry on our last 10 day cruise. I find that it is easier to pack clean clothes than the dirty ones. The area has an ironing board and...

Re: Golden Princess Aloha Deck

We sailed the Golden in May '04. Our cabin was on the Aloha deck, in the middle, right off hand I don't remember the number. The cabin was a good size and the balcony was covered. The balcony had...

Re: Unruly children??

This subject was discussed a while back. Here is my experience while being on the Grandeur on spring break week. We had problems with our toilet in our room because "kids" in the upper deck were...

Re: "Pooling" Tips

Doesn't that just stink???? We were under the impression that they get to keep what we give them but they have to declare they got them. What does one do if you want the person who gives...

Re: "Pooling" Tips

We asked the waiter on a Princess ship how this worked. He agreed that tips are pooled but the extra they get to keep. They have to declare the extra tips but they keep them. Now that was what he...

Re: How would your post read?

I'm wondering do all cruisers read the small print??? In this case I don't think so. The Captain (he is the guy that has the big job of running the big ship) makes the decisions. Not the passenger...

Re: Inside vs. balcony

I totally agree with a balcony. Although you can go up on deck, having a balcony is well worth the extra $$. We started with an ocean view and now choose balcony cabins. I like just sitting there...
