Default Formal/Elegant Nights on Oasis of the Seas

Booked on a 7 day cruise out of Port Canaveral on 26 March. How many formal/elegant nights are usual for a 7 day cruise? Are they usually the same nights, like 2 and 4 nights. Thanks.

Yep, on a 7 day cruise, there will be 2 elegant evenings, usually the first one is the second night out...enjoy!

You'll have two; one on the second night and one on the 6th night. Always subject to change, but that's what is normal.

Thanks for all the help. Also is it necessary to dress up for the specialty restaurants. I was think maybe a sport coat and open shirt?

Some people feel comfortable wearing 'resort casual' for specialty restaurants, i.e. jacket - no tie, while others prefer more relaxed attire.

We had reservations at the Steakhouse on the Carnival Glory once and the night before we got a call from the matre'd confirming our reservations. She mentioned that the dress was 'cruise elegant'. Not quite sure what she meant, I asked and was told many gentlemen prefer to wear a sports coat, but shorts were not acceptable. I happened to have a blazer with me, so we showed up appropriately attired. The place was crowded and there was only one other man wearing a jacket. All the other guys were wearing sport shirts or golf shirts. The guy behind me was wearing a t-shirt, jeans, sneakers, and a baseball hat that he never took off the entire dinner.

I saw the exact same thing on formal night; t-shirt, shorts, and flip flops!

Bottom line, you'll see just about everything, so wear what you feel comfortable wearing. I like to wear what I think is nice for the two of us, because after all, we're the only two people I want to impress.

Agreed, my wife and I booked Chops Grille on formal night on one of our cruises. This particular cruise we decided not to bring any formal attire but we did bring casual wear. We wore our casual wear that night and was in step with almost everyone there. Some couples did dress in formal attire. We were very comfortable and not out of place.
