Default Honeymoon RCCL

Hi- I am new to this and to RCCL. We are getting married in October and for our Honeymoon are taking the Mariner of the Seas out of Tampa to the USVI. Are there any seasoned cruisers that may be able to shed som words of wisdom on crusing this line/ship/itinerary? Also will there be any benefit to us being on our honeymoon? Any advice would be great!!

Hi, Sam&Matt!

Welcome to CruiseMates. I can't shed any light on sailing on Mariner of the Seas, but I wanted to say congratulations on your upcoming marriage. You will have a GREAT time!

I haven't sailed Mariner yet (July 1st) but we honeymooned last year aboard Monarch last year. On that ship (and I believe it's the entire line, but I could be wrong) they had a honeymooners get-together the same night as the captain's cocktail party. They're also supposed to make a big deal over you on one night at dinner.

I am going on the Mariner in August. We booked the Eastern this time. I went on the Mariner last year in May and did the western caribbean. The ship is gorgeous. My boyfriend and I had a great time. I do know that they have special activities on the ship just for honeymooners. I have been to St. Thomas and St. Maarten on the Adventure of the Seas. I prefer St. Thomas-it is fabulous. St. Maarten had great beaches however, I had a bad experience with an island native there. This time we will be taking the ferry over from St. Thomas to St. John. Just for something different! Have a great honeymoon!

Thanks for that! I am constantly looking into EVERYTHING I can get my hands on to try and see what to expect. I was reading on another board that there are themed parties and whatnot? Ever here of anything like that?

Sam,
I never heard of a themed honeymoon party on RCCL. I know that I have sat at dinner tables with honeymooners and they never mentioned a themed party. I know that on RCCL they have a love and marriage game show in which they choose from the audience a honeymoon couple, a couple who has been married for awhile and then one who has been married for 40 yrs plus. They do a game show thing similar to the newlywed game. That is fun to go to and watch. On the Mariner, they have different theme nights and suggested attire for each night. For example, there is always a caribbean night and the dress is casual/caribbean attire. I normally like to bring a tropical sundress or skirt and my b/f normally brings a hawaiian shirt for that night. Each night there is something different going on....there are comedians, shows, parades on the promenade, the casino, ice show, bingo, Quest......something to do for everyone! You will not be bored.......and you probably won't even have time to go to that honeymooner get together! You will love it!!!

If you are interested I still have eight albums consisting of 177 pictures posted on Webshots. We took them on our back to back cruise on the Mariner a couple of years ago. Here is the URL.
