Question Question About Carry-on Wine

6th time cruiser but first on Oceania.

I know we are allowed to bring 3 - 750 ml of wine with us on the ship. But does it have to be in a carry-on suitcase or can the suitcase containing the wine be checked?

We called and asked and didn't really get a clear/confident answer.

Leaving 5/9/18. Thanks.

Don't know where you're leaving out of, but when we did our 17-night Asian cruise, they allowed us to carry on whatever we wanted. We brought on at least a 6-pack of local beer in each port and often a bottle of local alcohol, such as sake, and they never even checked any of our carry-on bags.

Thanks for your answer but I was more specifically wanting to know if, at the start of the cruise, we could put our wine in our checked baggage or if we had to have it in our carry on. On Carnival they confiscate any alcohol in checked baggage (we learned the hard way). Thanks.

As I said, we were allowed to carry on whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted, including the initial embarkation port.

The way they throw bags around, you never want to put bottles in your check luggage. Carry it on with you.
