Default Going out on Costa

My Wife, two daughters and my mother (to watch the kids... ) are going out on the Costa Atlantica January 2nd also, feel free to email me if you'd like to have some instant friends on board, ... anyway, we haven't booked any excursions... but we are excited as heck about going.

I've been on cruises before but my family hasn't... anyone have any thoughts about the following:

1, will my kids (10 and 13) be bored or are there sufficient things on board to keep them occupied?

2, will I really need a tuxedo or is a nice suit OK?

3, are there all ages on this cruise? I'm in my 30's. I'm hoping I'm not going to get stuck on a boat full of old timers.

4, Will my 13 year old daughter be able to use the gym?

5, I'm a little nervous about her being exposed to drinking on board (I remember when I was her age I got HAMMERED on a cruise ship) what are the rules about that on the ship?
