Default Your favorite television show growing up

Hands down my favorite television show as a kid was Father Knows Best. Among my other favorites were Leave it to Beaver, My Three Sons, The Nelsons, and Sky King.

I remember watching the Ed Sullivan Show at my grandparents' house on Sunday nights. We did not have cable so I missed a lot of U.S. shows growing up, but saw them later in re-runs. "Beaver" was a favourite, as was the Canadian kids' show Mr. Dressup....

My brother's and I were Sci-Fi geeks. Star Trek took precedent over playing outside and even an evening baseball game.

We also never missed a chance to watch Outer Limits, Twilight Zone, Lost in Space (we thought this one pretty dumb) and later we loved Night Gallery.

Take care,
Mike

When I was under 10, my favourites were Please Don't Eat the Daisies, I Love Lucy, I dream of Jeanie, Brady Bunch, My 3 Sons, and so many more that I can't remember.

As I grew a bit older, they included Facts of Life, Different Strokes, Cosby Show, (and so many more that i can't remember!).

Interesting subject, The one I think about now is the Long Ranger. There were many others Ed Sullivan, Play House 90, Hallmark Hall of Fame. Great family moments. Mike

Ever since posting on this thread yesterday, I've had a theme song stuck in my head, and its bugging me because I can't figure out which show it is. It might be My 3 sons, but I'm not sure. I need to find a site with theme songs, and see if I can figure it out.

Oh Lordy, I found a new time waster.

I went looking for the theme to My 3 Sons ~ and that is not the theme in my head. I checked a few other shows that I recall and no luck. The theme in my head sounds a bit like I dream of Jeanie, but different. Hopefully, it comes to me sooner, or i will drive myself crazy!.

Anyhow, I found this ..... a name that TV show theme song game.

Name That Theme Song Game - TelevisionTunes.com

My mystery solved - it was the theme to Bewitches that was plaguing me! Add that to the list of shows I watched. Oh, another favourite was That Girl.

While I liked some of the shows mentioned, I just have to be different. I stayed up past my bedtime when I was little to watch Marcus Welby, M.D. every week. My mom would tell me I'd be tired the next day but I did not care. I also liked The Flying Nun at some point. In my teens I watched my all time favorite show, MASH.

Another two shows come to mind; Dr. Kildare and Ben Casey. How many of you gals had to have a Dr. Kildare or Ben Casey shirt?

PBS has a show about local kid's shows. It talks about Bozo starting in Chicago, etc.

They mention Wallace and Ladmo in Phoenix several times - the show was the longest running local kid's show in history and the last one to go OFF the air some time in the late 80s. I started watching it in 1963.

The show was so popular it spawned comedians that went on to Steve Allen, etc.

Network shows - I remember I really like comedies - Dick Van Dyke, Andy Griffith, Dobie Gillis.

I like George Burns & Gracie Allen (I was young for them, but I liked them when I saw them).
