Default Saturday posts from the edge...

Good Morning CruiseMates from snowy Canada!
I didn't bring my laptop on this trip so I am trying to type on Oma and Opa's computer.
The keyboard has a little bit different layout from mine and I keep hitting the wrong keys.
Well we made it up to Canada without incident. We were able to meet up with d/h somewhere around Lansing.
We enjoyed a late lunch together and continued our caravan together the rest of the way to the border.

Oma and Opa are looking very spry on this visit. It looks like their cruise really did them good. I haven't
seen Oma look this well in years. I hope she can hang in there, and stay in remission. a year and a half ago
I thought she was at the point of no return. I'm glad none of us gave up hope. In a while I am heading down
to the mall, going to pick up some toys for my nephews Christmas presents. It is too big of a hassle to buy
them at home and try to bring them across the border etc... so we just buy them here. It looks as though we're
all meeting for dinner tonight at the new chinese restaurant. Sounds good to me. Less work for all of us.

I am getting so excited to head to warmer climates soon for the Bloggers, it is really snowy up here. I am praying they don't get anymore snow til after we leave. Hope you all have a terrific weekend.

Good Morning BW and all CM's to follow

It is another Saturday here, a bit drewry expecting high of 65 degrees today and then back to the 70's next week Oh how we love living in the south. I talked to my brothers last week (Indiana) and they told me that it was in the teens and colder there, brrrrrrr. Hope that all of my friends and family living in the north stay warm.

We are just 23 days away from our next cruise, 8 days to celebrate our 30th anniversary, we can't wait.

I have to go wake up my D/W in a little while with her morning cup of coffee.

Well you all have a great Alabama Day.

Irish 8)

BW - I did not know you were of German heritage, I have not heard Oma and Opa used in a long time it was so nice. Enjoy your time. I really miss my Oma and Opa.

Luanne & Jim - Prayers to you and your family, Take care of each other and remember to taker it one day at a time.

May you have warm words on a cold evening,
a full moon on a dark night,
and the road downhill all the way to your door.

Hello everyone,
What a diffence a day makes. It was 56 here yesterday and today we have 25 with snow flurries. What a bummer! Here in southern Ohio they say if you don't like the weather wait a day and it will change...how right they are. We have to go to West Virginia later today. It's about a 2 hour drive so not that bad. D/H has a square dance to call tonight there so we will be late getting home. Don't mind as we will get to see some friends we haven't seen for awhile.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Good morning all. It's cloudy with rain predicted for today and there is some showing up on our local radar.

Not much planned other than a hair appointment and a little shopping.

It's been uneventful around here, down right boring actually. Oh well, we're use to it.

Everyone have a great day.

Morning All, from Montreal, where it is bright and sunny, but oh, so deceiving! The temp is listed as -18C, with windchill at -29C which translates to -20F. I sit here in amazement, watching the 2 guys next door readying their snowmobile for the day's run. They must be out of their minds!

For me, it's a good day to hibernate with a good book or jigsaw puzzle, but alas, I have made a hair appointment, and after that we will drive into town to see the stepson and granddaughter for a very delayed Christmas visit!

Have a good weekend everyone, and Luanne and family, still thinking of you with love and hugs.....

donna

p.s. BW, where in Canada are you? I hope it's not as cold as here!

Irish,
I actually am of german, english and irish heritage. However, we are visiting my husband's parents who flemish speaking beligians. One of the things they asked when the children were born is that the kids would call them "Oma and Opa" rather than Grandma and Grandpa. Which of course was fine. D/H's sister and brother in law are referred to as Tante and Nuncle rather than Aunt and Uncle. Its a small way to preserve a little of their heritage.

Good Morning from rainy western Colorado,
It was actually nice to go out to get the newspaper and see puddles. I hope this rain will wash away the snow on our front yard. It has been sitting there since December. Those who live in the mountains are seeing snowfall. Great for the ski resorts, not so great for those driving over the passes. Our grandson is in southern Colorado for two basketball games. Hopefully the team makes it home safely tonight.
Beanie, enjoy time with your inlaws. A late holiday celebration will brighten up a January day.
RD your plans to read and do puzzles sound good. I will make breakfast for DH when he gets up.
Have a nice day to all of you.

Good morning from a rainy Southern California. Looks like it rained all night and continues. We're an inch-and-a-half down for the season, but apparently, we have a good chance to make up the deficit.

Like RD, I will have a haircut, much needed, so off to Newport Beach in the rain.

Hello to all. The weather here in WNC is 48f and a little drizzle. It made it to 60f yesterday and we thought we were having a heat wave. It has given me spring fever.

No big plans for today. Just got back from having my DG's oil changed. Man I lead an exciting life. The good news is that UK plays Bama today. The bad news is that it's not televised here.
I'm hoping to go to Bailey's (Steakhouse and Sports Theater) tonite to watch the Affliction fights. I would watch at home but I just can't stomach the 49.95 that PPV charges.

Have a great day and if you're north of here stay warm. If you're south of here, can I come visit?

Good evening from Virginia Beach. Rob and I drove up to Williamsburg in rainy weather but as soon as we hit Williamsburg, the weather couldn't have become more beautiful! We went out with friends, who live in Williamsburg, to the Prime Outlet Mall and then went out for dinner at a great Mexican restaurant. Rob has to have catarac surgery on Tuesday morning. Here's hoping it goes well!
