Default Remembrance Day

To our Canadian Friends, know that we are thinking of your sacrifices on this special day for you.

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide, O Canada,
We stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

Irish

I echo Irish's sentiments! Canada's sacrifices toward the preservation of freedom have been great and should be more readily acknowledged.

That was really nice guys, it was really sweet and very nice.

But one thing, it is not our rememberance day today. Ours is November 11th. ( versus September 11th)

I see on the calander it is "patriot day", but I think that this us a USA day.

But it was really and truly very nice to see such a lovely and thoughtful post.

Delfthuis,

Then your Remembrance Day is the same as our Veteran's Day (which used to be called Armistice Day) and I'm sure both countries originally celebrated it for the same reason. On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day, of the eleventh month in the year 1918, hostilities ceased on the Western Front thus effectively ending the First World War.

Delft beat me to it, but I was about to say the same thing!
I wondered how we had jumped from September to November so quickly!
Anyway, it's the thought that counts, and that was really sweet of you Irish!

Speaking of needing more sun and not jumping into November....
I bought a sundress today (for the cruise) on liquidation, in a store full of Fall fashions. The cashier said to me "just don't want to let go of summer, do you?"
She's right - I don't !!!

I must apologize, my calendar had it listed as yesterday. I thought that the date was wrong I though that we all celebrated that special day in November. When I called the company that produced the calendar they said the wording was wrong that it should have been labeled Patriots Day.
