I hate the next month and a half. The horrible allergy season for me began today. Not even Claritin worked today; not like I have a tolerance for it not having taken one since last September. It should be fun playing softball tomorrow surrounded by dust and grass. I'm officially ready for the ground to freeze for the winter.

Doug,

Although it may not be in the budget, I have a simple solution for your allergies.

Imagine yourself -- you're on the bow of a great liner, a tasty (strong, too) beverage in your hand, the sun has just set and the sky is magnificent, the temperate is perfect and the breeze is gently blowing. You are reveling in the perfection of the moment, knowing that many more moments just like this are on the way.

You notice someone standing next to you. A lovely young lady, as lovely as the moment you're in. You share a kiss, her warm lips softly caressing yours.......

Something to think about!

Dean

Beach Doug - fully understand what you are going through. My problem is a little different though. I am allergic to EVERYTHING GREEN ourside all year long. The problem sort of goes away in the winter. I have been on allergy shots for two years and also take a couple of perscriptions.

Good luck with your allergies. Hope they don't get too bad !!!!!!!

Mean Dean - need the name of that great liner, and is there a name to go with the lovely young lady. Never mind, my DW would probably be with me.

Crabbie1,

The great liner is the Imagination (not to be confused with the Carnival one).

The lovely young lady, with the long dark hair, beautiful hazel eyes, and the elegant, flowing dress is a mystery, I'm afraid.

It's better that way, don't you think?

Dean

Dean, you are probably right. Her BIG boyfriend would probably show up and also, I am a little long in the tooth for that sort of thing. Imagination and mystery are good though.

Sorry about the allergies. Escaping to a cruise sounds like a solution to me.

dina

I think a cruise would be perfect for our allergies. But.....our next one isn't until NEXT JUNE. We are going to Vegas in a couple of weeks. That will help, if I don't leave all my money for allergy medication with the casinos !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HA HA

BeachDoug - there is no need to suffer with your allergies! get yourself to an allergist, especially since you stated that the Claritin doesn't work for you - don't self medicate when there are so many great medications out there. I suffer from chronic allergies(the official diagnois is called Allergic Rhinitis) have all my life, have done the immunization therapy - which works WONDERS! i am currently on Flonase- it is the preventative that makes my quality of life so much better.

dina, You are so correct about the casinos. I always try not to let them take it all. The last time we went to LV, I brought some of their's back home with me. YAH HOO!

BeachDoug, LisaK is SO RIGHT. Get thyself to an allergist ASAP. They can deffinitly get you on the right track. I as LisaK have Allergic Rhinitis and have had problems with allergies since I was 15 until I finally went to an allergist two years ago ( I am 68). The Flonase is very good. Other good ones include Rhinocort and Astelin.

LisaK, I so feel for you. Hopefully your allergies are more under control than mine. I have been taking allergy shots for two years along with the Flonase and Astelin and I still "drain like a hose" all year round. On our cruise to Hawaii this past June was such a relief. I had NO PROBLEMS at all until I left the airport at DFW and started home. Hopefully I will have relief on our Alaskan cruise next year.

No allergist needed. All they ever did was put me on Claritin anyways. I found medicine that works, and it's still effective 72 hours later. Going to Vegas next weekend will help too.

crabbie - i know what you are dealing with. I am lucky that my allergies are under control, now. Hang in there, keep an open line of dialogue with your allergist, you might need to have your serums altered.
