Default Freedom of the Seas Now Has A Boxing Ring

Hi:

I wondered what would get my dear husband as excited as I am about going on the Freedom (we're already booked). I'm the cruise person of the two of us and he enjoys cruises, but just doesn't love them like I do. Well, I found what has got him excited about going on the Freedom....a boxing ring of all things. I just read today that the Freedom is going to have a regulation size boxing ring. What will they think of next?

My husband is a former Golden Gloves Champ and a base champ when he was in the Navy many years ago, and he's also been a referee at a lot of boxing events. When I told him about this, he got way excited. Now I know what it takes to get him excited about a cruise.....just say, it's got a boxing ring. Makes you wonder what they will think of next for this ship?

Happy Cruising......

Anita/Buddy

Finally Mrs Kuki can get me in a ring and box my ears. Now I know she'll call that a real vacation!!!

I, too, wonder... who wants to take the chance of getting into a boxing ring and inflict/receive injuries? This must be something for professionals in the future but I still would not want to see something like that on a vessel that is supposed to be utilized for FAMILY pleasure.

perhaps your DH can write Royal Caribbeanl and offer his boxing expertise and do some clinics in return for a free cabin (or at least an upgrade)

think of it as a different spin on the men who are dance escorts for women on a cruise ship

I'm sure the cruise line will make everyone sign waivers before they get in the ring

If I understood it correctly the boxing ring is to be a part of the fitness
program. You can have an " instructor " to assist in your boxing thingee---

It will be interesting to see what happens when someone ends up with an
" accidently " broken jaw--- can you still say " lawsuit " with a broken jaw ??

I'm sure they'll have all the safety gear, especially head gear to wear when in the ring. I can't imagine that it'll be any more risky than "the wall", or for some of us, the "ice skating rink".
I too used to box a bit, and it can be a lot of fun. Really, really good exercise too.

Well, with boxing as the new "in" fitness craze, I'm not surprised. Sounds like fun!

i am sure that it will be closely monitored - just for workout purposes. i hope that the trainer won't let you into the ring if you have had one to many "drinks of the day"

I don't watch the WWF but have seen a few of the big names on t.v from time to time. When I jokingly made the post about " big time wrasslin " I was honestly thinking just what you posted. I can just see Hulk Hogan body slamming someone so hard you can feel it in down in the engine room.
