Default Veteran's Day

I'm enjoying the day off and thinking of my deceased father who was in the Normandy invasion. My dad could never talk about the Normandy invasion when, as a child, I quizzed him. A few years ago I saw "Saving Private Ryan." Then I knew the reason for his silence.

He and others like him have sacrificed sooooo much!

Agree! I salute all veterans, and I wish the federal government would do more to help the ones in need. They gave alot in service to this country.

It is good that we remember our veterans. So many all around the world owe their freedom to them. Our thanks to them all.

I too quizzed my dad when I was young, all he said was that he would put his rifle over the top of the foxhole and shoot at the enemy. I admired his courage as he had stateside duty during WW II, but he wanted to see some action. He was able to go on leave to get married and intentionally came back a day late. The Army shipped him out to Italy, he got his action. I'm just thankful he came back or I would not be typing this right now. Although he is not alive today I want to say "Thanks Dad". I have to admit I really miss him.
