Default Solstice - first impressions!

Hi all...

Here I am - finally seeing it, Celebrity Solstice.

I just have a few word: dignified, tasteful, understated but not overlymodest, unpretentious.

This is exactky the kind of ship I personally would like to spend a week upon. She is rooomy and classy - no glitzy neon or amusement park style eye candy.

She is a grown up ship for adults - very elegant lines, lots of drapes and nice fabrics. Use a coaster, this is not plastic deck furniture.

The rooms are big - like Michelin 3-star Palm Springs restaurants; roomy and acoustically controlled. Fountains & glass everywhere. I have not dined yet, I am hoping the food lives up to the decor.

The grass, I admit I thought it was something of a joke, but when you walk on it you DO connect with it, even though it is at sea. It is a cool idea I like. The night so far is quiet on the grass, a few kids playing glo-in-the-dark bocci ball.

It was a ta very tasteful naming ceremony, some people were in tears. More to report tomorrow. You are going to love this ship!

Thanks for the update. We are on the Inaugural next Sunday & we are really looking forward to it. We have reservations in the Tuscan Grille for Thanksgiving. Can't wait.

Here is my first photo gallery - just the top decks mostly and the atrium. Still, plenty to look at...

Paul, is there any Internet service on the ship? I heard the wi-fi does not work.

Thanks for your update.

After my last cruise on the Century, I was not sure if I would make it back on Celebrity. Your raves and, another rave from a friend, also on the 2 dayer, really make me want to see this new ship...
