You got that right! That's one of the major reasons that we've stuck almost exclusively with Carnival for the last couple of years or so. Absolutely the most bang for the buck, and frankly we've not been disappointed with any Carnival cruise we've taken lately.

I think the best purchase price competition might be NCL - but they have more extra-cost dining venues as part of their Freestyle concept, so even it it is cheaper than Carnival you might finish your cruise poorer.

I have done 3 Carnival cruises and 2 Princess cruises and believe me when I say, Carnival wins hands down!

Have been on 2 other cruise lines, not sure if we'll go back to them. First, you are correct about them being much more pricier. Second, in agreement with green gd the restaurants along with higher drink prices on NCL detered us from booking again with them. The other was RCCL, and the price was at least 30 % higher than a Carnival cruise from the same port. To please our daughter-in-law we still chose RCCL over Carnival for that cruise. Upon returning to the home port wea all decided (even our daughter-in-law) that we would stick to Carnival from now on.

I was pricing other lines last night. NCL looked like it had a cool one, plus they also take kids in their camp at age 2 - one of the reasons we have always sailed with Carnival. Their kids areas looked great. My husband and I are drunk the entire cruise, so we look at what our kids will like best It's our vacation too and we choose to imbibe

Hi Cheryl.

My DH and I are nervous about trying another cruise line. The prices definately seem to be higher and that makes it even more scary to try something new. I know....many are saying don't knock it if you haven't tried it, but with 12 Carnival cruises behind us and number 13 soon, we know what to expect as far as service and price. I have heard that Carnival has the largest staterooms, and I definately don't want to go down in size!!

Default a solo

As a solo traveler, Carnival & HAL are about the only ones that have ever offered me single rate at 150%. Royal Caribbean, Princess, and Celebrity all wanted me to pay 200%.
No way !!

How did you get that 150% rate? I cruised on Carnival recently and paid 200%.

Ditto Green, NCL is Carnival's closest compeition IMO. Great new ships, fantastic "Freestyle" program, a real up and coming cruise line. However, the extra charge for reservations only restarunts can get pricey. I have sailed NCL and my husband has not, we might try them to Bermuda this summer (late august). Carnival is definatly our "bread and butter" vacation, if we want to take an affordable get away we turn to Carnival first.

I agree with you. I haven't been disappointed with Carnival and they've treated me very well, so I will keep going back. Looking forward to my next Carnival cruise on the Legend in May.

Wink Cruise lines

We are booked on our first Carnival cruise in April. Don't know much about the ships, etc. Our daughter and son-in-law have cruised with CC before and highly recommend it. They will be with us so we got a great discount as return cruisers. It helped alot when we booked a suite for less than a balcony on RCCL. We'll see what it is like and if we go back or not.
