Default Great vaction y'all

Well I'm back everybody !
The Splendor rocks and kicks tail:o. For those who haven't been yet....you certainly have much to look forward to. If you are into karaoke then sing rocking songs....the karaoke hostess loves for "singers" to jam.
The shows were great, the second formal show called "Veroom" being my favorite.
The trivia games were a hoot, I won 3 genuine plastic ships on a sticks.
Puerto Vallarta is gorgeous with the mountains meeting the sea. The Rhythm of the Night shore excursion was the highlight of the whole vacation with the dancing, music, and wonderful food.
Mazatlan was lovely also where I took "Colonial villages of Sierra Madre" tour which visits the "real" Mexico of churches, colonial towns with cobblestone streets, and some craft shops.
Cabo San Lucas too was lovely. I took several photos of Land's End, toured a cactus garden, a glass blowing shop, and visited the picturesque town of San Jose .

Thoth thanks for the review I can't wait to go in 11 days. We booked a Snorkel excursion in Puerto Vallarta since that is the long day. Cabo I like medano beach plus we will probably pop by Lover's beach. Mazaltan is Aquarium day. Here is the website good luck it's in spanish.

Thoth

Did you take the Carnival excursion or a private one to Rhythm? Do you think a group would enjoy this? Maybe the Snoozers should consider....

Thanks

Ray, I had looked into this one and mentioned it on our MOB thread awhile back. It sounds like a great excursion.

But I'm thinking it might interfere with the "booze cruise" that T C has been researching?

Also, I keep reading about it being "romantic". Is it more of a couples thing?

Lovepea, congrats on the upgrade that is always fun. I like being higher on to the ship so I'm closer to Lido deck. It's just easier in the morning to get my coffee.
Ah, cruise! Lucky for those who have time for a fleeting vacay. The last time I got down from LAX, had to pay a whopping $250 to be shuttled to the ship port. Any recommendations for affordable car rental or airport taxi cab service/county taxi service?

I have done super shuttle before and they were affordable. $250 seems quite high how many people were shuttled?

Your group should love this dinner and show ......It was Carnival's shore excursion and cost $100, however I did sit at a table with a nice couple who weren't on the cruise which means one should be able to book this adventure independently. The boat ride out and back is an excursion in itself, plus the food once there was just wonderful. The show features perhaps the most talented dancers I have ever witnessed. It could be compared to a Hawaiian Luau....Mexican style. From Carnival's web-site:

"Enjoy a spectacular journey to a spiritual land that time forgot as you step back to a time of pagan mysticism and legend.

On this fascinating excursion you will:
  • Cruise across the Banderas Bay to the beautiful hideaway beach haven of Las Caletas.
  • Listen as soothing music mingles with the song of the jungle.
  • Follow a torch lit path that leads you past live portrayals of forgotten rituals and customs.
  • Be enticed by the aroma of grilled steak, fish and chicken in the air.
  • Move to the outdoor amphitheater for stories of an ancient civilization revealed through music and dance.
  • Watch as one of Mexico’s contemporary dance troupes take you on a magical journey.
  • Complete your evening beautifully by dancing under the stars on your cruise back to the ship. "

Have fun ! You are correct Puert Vallarta as well as Mazatlan are long days which is way cool,....too bad Cabo San Lucas is all too short.
I felt cheated out of its opportunities since the last tender leaves at 2pm.
Plan to get up early on Friday if you wish to savor Cabo

It was just me and my fiance and another couple friend. It wasn't up for rent, had to be on queue, even. Would you know the average rate for shuttle service?

Here is a link to LAX airport website they show information for the two shuttle services (super shuttle and prime time shuttle) under shared van rides. If you click on the name of the shuttle company it will take you to the website with phone number to call them directly for a price quote.
Shared Ride Vans I hope that helps.

Watch out for that post cruise blue funk.
One week you are the life of the party, then the next you are just another wretch on night shift.
Worsening things for me was my beloved cat Bobby died the next day.
When a 14 year old cat lived his whole life in a small apartment with you, it leaves a hole.
Thankfully, there will be more cruises, and who knows... there is most likely some homeless cat out there somewhere.

I just booked with Prime Time Shuttle for August. LAX to the Carnival terminal in Long Beach was $16 each way per person, for a shared van.

I'm really sorry to hear about Bobby. Losing a beloved pet is very difficult. You are right though that there are cats in shelters looking for homes. Don't wait too long.

As for the post vacation funk, the only thing I know to counter it is to book the next one. :-D

It's very sad to lose a cat. When my kitty Grover died I was so upset. But we gave him a good life as I'm sure you did for your cat Bobby. When I think of the poor kitties that don't have that it makes me sad. When you are ready you will rescue another sweetie.

Default Looking for some details on Splendor

Looking for someone that has done the golf excursions:

Did you rent clubs and shoes? What was the cost?

Has anyone done the spinning class? Do you know what type of clipless pedals they have?
