Default Elevator question!!

Can anyone tell me if any of the elevators run straight through the ship, from deck 1 all the way up?
When we were on the Paradise the floor plan looked like they went through but they didn't. We had to get off on one floor and walk over to another elevator.

Now, I'm looking at the Pride... and it also looks like they run straight through...
Does anyone know about this??

From what I have seen some of the elevators will go all the way and some won't. You just have to figure out which one is which.

So, I'm curious - are the deck plans for Paradise incorrect? According to them...
-half of the forward elevators go all the way up to the Sports deck (no elevators to Sun deck)
-the other half of the forward elevators go up to Lido but not to Verandah, Sports or Sun
-the Atrium glass elevators only go from Empress to Sports
-the middle elevators only go to Promenade deck but not to Lido, Verandah, Sports or Sun
-the aft elevators go to Lido but not to Verandah, Sports or Sun

Or in numbers (I believe Riviera is deck 4 on these ships)
-half of forward bank goes from 4 to 12
-other half of forward bank goes from 4 to 10
-Atrium glass els go from 7 to 12
-middle go from 4 to 9
-aft go from 4 to 10

I'd like to mark in my book if the deck plans are not correct. Thanks!

If they are correct (like the ships I've been on) then Pride would provide:
-forward from 1 to 10
-middle from 1 to 10
-atrium from 1 to 10 (except the middle one )
-aft from 1 to 9

I don't know.. now I'm really confused...
All I can remember... is this.. No elevater went up to the deck with the mini golf... my sister had to take the stairs and my knees were bad so I waited for her.
Then, if I remember correctly on our way to dinner, we had to go up over and then back down another elevator, etc.
And I'm probably wrong about this too, but I don't remember the atrium elevators going up past the lido deck...

okay, I was so in awe of our cruise last time.. (our first cruise) It all seem like a blur now that I'm trying to remember details....
It wasn't like I was drunk the entire time..

I eat so much friggin food I try and take the stairs as much as possible. I will do it from the Lido deck all the way to deck 1. A little huffin and puffin but at least it makes me lose 2 or 3 calories..

I can't do the stairs right now. And now, my dr. says not to go for my walks until my muscles get stronger... I started walking everyday when I joined weight watchers.. (as of yesterday lost 27 lbs so far) but then my knees started acting up.
I actually started walking to get into practice walking from the buffet to my room....

By the way on my last cruise I ate pretty much what I wanted and then some....
I only gained 3 lbs....

None of the elevators run from the lowest deck to the highest deck.

I only took the elevators in the atrium, as they are clear and it's fun to get a view of everything. iof course, on Sensation one of the atrium elevators was out of commission on and off during my cruise. And it took so long waiting for the regular elevators that my son and I took the stairs instead. That is, he'd go up or down to the level we were headed for and wait till I caught up with him. Bad leg.

On my next cruise, I will still mostly do the stairs, as it's a great exercise and I'm at righ for osteoporosis. Even though it will hurt my leg, the benefits to my bones and otherwise general health are worth it.

Plus, I've recently increased the dosage of what I take to control my nerve pain so that seems to be helping during the day.

I will be taking bus tour excursions, but as for the ship itself, I have no patiewnce for waiting for those elevators. And sometimes when they do show up quickly, they are too packed with people already and you can't get on it.

I hope it's better on Valor but I won't expect that.

What would be perfect is if they had those people movers like they have at the airport "O'hare." It' love to just be moved the length of the ship and simply step off where I wanted to go. At least there is plenty of seating all over the ship so those who are tired or have a physical disability or chronic pain like me can have places gto sit down when they need to!

Also, keep in mind that the top decks of all ships do NOT run from front to back (bow to stern). Hard to have an elevator to very top when the top deck itself stopped half way back the length of the ship.
Also, what is now mini-golf used to be the topless area and they did not want kids being able to take an elevator up there. So, you had to use stairs and go through a gate.

Bottom line is if you take a cruise be prepared to walk.... a lot!! Its just the nature of the beast... ships are large and not always user friendly.. find your ship maps on board and study the layout.. its the only way to minimize the excess walking if its an issue for anybody...

There is nothing wrong with climbing or descending stairs. I do it often while onboard. Keeps me healthy.

Yes, I agree with the stairs... when I'm physically able to I will be using the stairs more often, as I have in the past and as I lose weight I expect it to get much easier for me.

My immediate weight goal is to weigh less than my last cruise... I'm very close to that goal, and getting very excited...
Actually, because of all the walking on a cruise I am using it as a tool help me while I'm on my vacation to continue my weight loss journey.
Thanks everyone for all your replies.... 8)

I just want to say CONGRADS on your weight loss so far and good luck with your Goal. I know it's not any easy thing to do.
