Default Can You Go Into Detail On The Room Service?

Someone e-mailed me this question, but instead of answering personally, I thought I would bring it to the board for everyone to share.

Room service on a Carnival ship is all the same on every ship. I will start with the Continental Breakfast

Here is the menu, and yes I have gone over the edge. As Venice so often reminds me, way to much time on my hands.

Citrus Segments Fresh Melon Banana Smoked Salmon

Cereals

Raisin Bran Cruncheroos Rice Krispies All Bran

Corn Flakes Fruit Loops Frosted Flakes Corn Pops

Cocoa Krispies Mini Wheats Low Fat Granola Special K

Breads

Danish White Toast Wheat Toast Muffin

Croissant Bagel

Yogurt

Strawberry Raspberry Plain Peach

Hot and Cold Beverages

Orange Juice Apple Juice Grapefruit Juice Tomato Juice

Freshly brewed coffee Freshly brewed Decaf

Hot chocolate Hot Tea Hot Decaf Tea

Milk Skim Milk Chocolate Milk

Condiments

Half and half Lemon Margarine Butter

Cream Cheese Honey Grape Jelly Diet Jelly

Strawberry Jelly Guava Jelly Orange Marmalade

Now, all of this is on a card the size of a do not disturb sign, and you fill it out, and hang it on your door knob. On it they ask for your room number, No of persons, And to be served between ___________ to _______ it also asked for the guest name.

This is wonderful in the mornings, because you put the time you want to wake up, and they will do that for you. If you want to eat more than what is on here, order coffee and juice, and then go to the Lido or the dinning room. You do not have to pay for the food(You already did) but please tip the guy or girl at least a dollar or two.

You are allowed to order as much of the above, so if you want two bananas, go for it. If you want two or three boxes of cereal, go for it.

One other note about the breakfast thing. Please put it outside your door, and not the inside. I am not kidding Remember that lady I was talking about who forgot to leave out any clothes on the final morning? She complained that they did not pick up her card. Guess where she put it?

Now this is only breakfast. I am challenging my fellow cruisemates to name the other stuff on the menu for the rest of the time. Let's see how much they remember.

Luanne

Luanne you are too funny. Don't forget that you must put down EVERYTHING that you want from sugar to milk to butter otherwise you will get black coffee, dry cereal and a dry danish.

I know they have a great club sandwich for the lunch/dinner room service menu. Also, they have a wrap that is very good.
My husband loved to come back from an excursion and order several things so we could try all of them. We might get one club, one wrap, one salad, one fruit cup, get the drift of this message! HA. Then we would share and if we didn't like something, move on to something else.

I have seen the cards for the breakfast room service, however how do you order lunch and dinner for room service? I have not witnessed any cards present in the rooms for these later meals.

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on toast, yum!! In the morning, the cinnamon danish is still warm and tastes even better when you're enjoying it on a balcony!!

Speaking of chow in your room...... We had the frig emptied of all of the overpriced goodies so we had room for our Wally World snacks & drinks.... The room steward will unlock the frig for you, just make sure not to consume any of the goodies or you will PAY dearly.....

Conquest 7/16-7/23
The night before our first excursion, we placed our order on the knob to have it delivered at 6am. 7:30 am we call to find out where our food was.

What? We have no card from you!

AAARRGGHH. Some kids may have removed it at night they said. OK, we will try tomorrow night before the next early (diving) excursion.

So we CALL it in at midnight to have breakfast delivered at 5:30 am. At 6:30 am we are calling the desk again asking where our order was. They knocked on the door as we were heading down to meet for our excusion.

We gave up after that, and just went to the buffet early.
It would have been nice to have it work once!

That was the only gripe all cruise, I think. We had a great time.

we had the exact opposite - they gave us WAY too much food!

we had ordered room service one morning and since neither of us is much of a breakfast eater, we each ordered toast and juice, plus 2 extra pieces of fruit to take on our excursion with us.

They arrived a few minutes early and when they brought the tray in, we first thought that they had brought us the wrong tray. we got toast, juice, milk, 4 pieces of fruit, and 4 danishes. we called just so they knew what happened in case some family down the hall got our skimpy breakfast. they told us that they were concerned that we would still be hungry so they sent a little extra just in case. they offered to come take away the extra food but we said not to worry about it. we just wrapped it up and took it with us and ate it on the beach in grand cayman.

Roast Beef and Brie sandwiches are my favorite,

there is also a chicken cheese & salsa type wrap that is good -forget what they call it.

BLT &
Shrimp Salad on Croissant are good also.

Those 4 items are my room service staples

Oh....and don't forget the plate of brownies and cookies, and the ceasar salads!!

Just a word of warning...if you like late night snacks and you're on the Legend, order them early. We tried 2 nights in a row to order a snack from room service. I was on the phone forever waiting in "queue"(sp?). Finally I got a message that the 24 hour pizza was still open on the Lido deck........jeesh! The other night I never did get through. So, either order before 10 and have it waiting for you in the room or go get pizza!
