Default Express check out at Debarcation on the Victory

Just returned from the Western Carib. on the Victory. The cruise overall was pretty good,
just wish we had more time in GC and Ocho Rios. At the end of the cruise we learned of this new feature which saved us quite a bit of time. If you can carry out all your bags
yourself and are a US citizen, and have not gone over your alloted amount for customs
then you can check out between 7:30 and 8:30. It took us about 20 min. to get off the ship and into the van to take us to Alamo at the Miami airport..

You don't have to be a U.S. citizen. Carnival's literature is misleading..on the Eastern Caribbean anyway the ship clears U.S. immigration at St. Thomas so as long as you have nothing to declare to US Customs and are within allowable limits you qualify for self-serve disembarking. This was explained by the Cruise Director and confirmed by the Purser's office on our recent Victory cruise. All four of us were Canadian citizens and we were off the ship shortly after 7:30.

Dan,
Did you have your own fly plans or did you book air with Carnival? Just wondering if you book cruise & air with Carnvial if you can do that as well. Mine understanding is if you book with Carnvial cruise & air that they take you to and from the airport, so was just wondering.

Thanks,
The Scotts
