Default San Juan question

We are doing a cruise to the Southern Caribbean. My question is when we get back to San Juan our flight for the return home is late in the day.

We weren't sure what to do with ourselves until than because you have to get off the ship so early. Our TA said that the ship offers excursions that day in San Juan for that reason.

First has anyone ever done this and if so did you have enough time?
What tours could we do with a few hours time and make it to the airport in time. We probably need to be at the airport around 4pm.

Thanks so much

You can book a tour through the ship. If you let them know what time you need to be at the airport they will know which tour to put you with.

They have many tours offered after disembarkation. They'll tell you in the shore excursions brochure which tours are for people that have flights at this time or that time. For example, "For passengers with flights departing after 2pm", is something you'll see in the tour description.

A ship's our is the best bet at Old San Juan. Your luggage will be safe and right with you. You will see and experience this beautiful historic port city. I would highly recommend this alternative.

Here are some ideas of things do to in Old San Juan.

I would send one of your party to the airport from the pier, stash the luggage in the secure holding room in terminal B and enjoy the city. The cabfare (about $16 each way) is less than the cost of a shore excursion and you can go at your own pace.
