Default Beach Juice

I keep hearing you talk about "beach juice" and I am curious to know if that's the actual name of a drink (if so what's in it) or just a funny name for a drink for those of us who are always hanging around water? Please inform me so I can keep up with you guys and not remain an ignorant newcomer!

Beach Juice, the utimate drink for all Cruisers, is the creation of the one and only Pamda. The creator keeps the ingredients and propotions a closely guarded secret. It is awaiting Patent approval by the FDA. Shortly it will be test marketed in selected areas. It's made only in small batches, so nationwide distribution would be difficullt. Maybe once the process is refined a larger distrubution area can be attempted.

Ok...I gave Pamda a chance to reveal the "secret" ingredients for "Beach Juice", so I guess I'll have to spill the beans. Here goes.

1/2 glass of Orange Juice.
1/2 glass of Tonic Water.

Very refreshing as is.

Reduce the above a little so there is room in the glass. Sipping works.
Add either gin or vodka (your choice).

Not only refreshing but also potent.

OK. I have to come clean on this one.

First, Capt'n Queeg is my husband but I invented Beach Juice long before he came into my life.

One summer, orange juice was way expensive due to a bad winter in Florida. It was about $5 per half gallon and we were at the beach for the summer.

The kids were mainlining orange juice and I tried to figure out a way to save a penny or so.

First, I mixed it with club soda. Non-starter.

Then I mixed it with tonic water. Instant hit.

After a couple of days, it hit my dim brain that it could be the basis of a refreshing cocktail.

Thus, the addition of gin, rum, or vodka.

Be warned, it is an extremely stealthy drink because it's so refreshing you want MORE. As several people figured out at the Phlamingo Phrolic. Especially those who were adding 151 proof rum.

What Queeg left out is that a slice of lime is a good addition.
