Default Can you use US dollars

We are doing a Panama cruise in April, with stops in Aruba, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica and Mexico. Can anyone tell me if US dollars can be used in these ports. Or is it advisable to have some of the local currency. I know Mexico is fine, but not sure about the rest.
Thanks for any info.

Yes, you'll be fine with US dollars in all those ports. Take lots of singles, and only small bills of the ship with you.
