If you don't want kids on your cruise, then stay away from the cheaper cruises, go on cruises more attuned to seniors (such as Holland or Celebrity), go when school in session, take a longer than 7-night cruise, and go somewhere that's not as attractive to families.

You can also wait until Virgin Voyages begin operation - they'll be for adults only.
