My 6th cruise, 4th with RCI and first on a Voyager class ship! In a 'nutshell' this was the GRANDIST ship I have been on to date. I did not book this cruise for the itinerary, but for the ship itself. Since I am only a short 2 hour drive from Cape Liberty it was a perfect opportunity to sail on the Voyager. I know Cape Liberty, NJ is new and an excellent alternative to driving into NYC, however they have a lot to learn.
We arrived around 2PM and didn't board until around 5:15 or so? There was a delay of disembarking pax from the previous sailing so we had to sit on plastic patio type chairs for the 3+ hour wait...was very uncomfortable! This in no way ruined the excellent time we had on board the Voyager of the Seas! She is enormous and there was never a dull moment from parties and parades on the Royal Promenade, miniture golfing, the list goes on. We booked a Promenade view stateroom on deck 7...it was larger than what I have had before on other Royal Caribbean ships, but didn't care for the fact you needed to keep the curtains closed most of the time otherwise people can look right into your cabin! Ports of call were St. John, NB and Halifax, NS. Weather was cool and overcast, but it never rained the entire trip. We spent more time aboard the ship than in port as I said didn't book for the ports of call. Looking forward to sailing on of the Voyager's sister ships, but definately a Caribbean itinery next time!
