Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines Radiance of the Seas
Eastern Caribbean
November 6, 2005

My husband and I (age 54) returned last Sunday from the Radiance of the Seas’ Eastern Caribbean cruise.  Our experience was very positive.  I had sailed previously on the Enchantment and Grandeur with RCCL and felt that the Radiance had all the plusses of those two ships, and more.  This is a gorgeous ship, with wonderful sea views from most interior areas.  We especially enjoyed the Solarium pool and hot tub, as these are “adult only,” and less crowded.  Our favorite place to sit in the afternoon and just relax was an outdoor seating area behind the Windjammer café.  It afforded wonderful sea breezes and a view of the ship’s wake, always beautiful to see.

The service on Radiance was great, especially our dining room staff, Marko and Desiree.  The entertainment was also excellent.  The production shows had so much talent, wonderful singers and dancers.  We especially enjoyed the smaller venue entertainment after the shows.  We loved the Schooner Bar’s ambience, and its fantastic entertainer, Dave Curtis.  He was a great piano singer, doing parodies, and popular songs very well.  But, he also had an exceptional talent for playing the piano, doing wonderful suites from Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera that were as good as any classical pianist I’ve heard.  We also enjoyed the Rosario Strings, a piano and violin duo who were fantastic.

We chose this cruise especially because it had three at sea days, which we particularly enjoyed.  We loved those, and everything about this beautiful ship.
