Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines Monarch of the Seas by N. McDougald Western Caribbean December 20, 2001

Cruising with RCL was a new experience for us, since we normally cruise Carnival. We found the ship to be very nice neat and clean. The staff was very helpful. The food was okay, but somewhat bland. The dining room service was nice and we didn't have to wait very long for our dinner. As for our cabin it was very small compared to Carnival's cabins. We had a great cabin stewart (Omar) who took very good care of us.

There were several unpleasant incidents; One day our toilet would not flush and everytime we wanted to shower we had to let the shower run for at least 10 minutes and then it was only warm. If you just want to relax go RCL. If you want to have some real fun go Carnival. We found ourselves having to think of things to do, RCL was lacking in the entertainment area. Overall it was a good cruise and we enjoyed ourselves. We will probably do it again if the price is right. Oh, Mexico was great.
