Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines Adventure of the Seas Southern Caribbean December 23, 2001

The ship is gorgeous. Everything shines. The service is great. It was a great cruise. The food in Portofino is superb( worth the $20 pp), but the regular fare is just fair.Make reservations at Portofino on day one. There were over 5000 people on board, but I seldom felt crowded. I spent a lot of time in the solarium. For the most part, most people kept their kids out. It was quiet and spacious. I didn't have a problem getting chairs.

The only time that I felt crowded was at debarkation. It was a mess. They had announced that people with early flights would be called at 8am to leave. The whole ship seemed to crowd onto deck 4 to get off. When they did announce earlt f,light #s to get off, everyone jammed. It was horrible. We didn't get off until almost 9. Having a 10:10 plane. It was a really tight connection. We did make it, but our nerves were shot. I'd go again, but I'd book a later flight. Also, RCI is selling most of its space to Spanish speaking people.
