Princess Cruises Tahitian Princess South Pacific/Tahiti June 2, 2003

This was not a fun ship. If you have any allergies to chemicals this is the trip to avoid. They were constantly repainting and/or varnishing during the time I was onboard with the odors of the chemicals used present in most locations around the ship and in our stateroom. I found the purser's staff to be most rude. This was my 7th cruise, my second on board the princess and the only cruise I wish I had not taken. The smell of the chemicals were even present in the dining room. Everyone is right about Omni Air, the charter flight used by Princess to Tahiti, very cramped, uneven airconditioning and some of the monitors for movies were not functioning.

The staff to get you onboard the flight to Tahihti from Princess were excellent. The best I have yet seen. Equally the staff's help at disembarking in Tahiti and upon arrival back at LAX were fantastic. The food on this cruise was mediocre. The chef should learn how to cook fish, most were overdone and had to be returned. We have never had to complain about food on any other cruises nor have I ever had to vacate my stateroom due to the presence of chemical odors. On this cruise even opening the balcony door, I had to remain away for more then 10 hours. This is a trip to avoid.
