This was my third cruise, and my second on Princess. We took my two teenage daughters and we all had a great time.
Everyone always asks if people get sea sick on these big ships. I used to say "no way, these ships are too big to feel motion". We left Ft. Lauderdale at 6:00 PM and by 7:15 PM 25% of the people were sick because of rough water in the Florida Straights which only lasted until about 9:30 PM. The rest of the week was calm until the last day. We were supposed to dock at Princess Keys but it was too windy and rough to tender to the island. The rest of the day Friday we spent in 18-25 foot waves and 30 mile an hr winds! Boy did that ship rock! We did not get sick but many people did. I was sitting in the hot tub on the upper deck and I had water from the pool splashing into the hot tub and lawn chairs flying by in the isle. it was great!
I hope I did not scare anyone away from cruising with this review. We had a great time dispite the screwed up weather. This does not happen very often this time of year but we were just unlucky. Heck it was only 40 degrees in Florida! This type of weather is not normal.
The ship is beautifull, there are grea shows every nite, and the crew is great. They will do anything you ask of them and be happy to do it for you.
Personal Choice dining was good because we could eat any time we wante to. The food in the main dining room was great and you could always have as much as you want.
The selection at the buffet for lunch was not the best, but breakfast and dinner in the buffet were fine. I was a little supprised there was not a cheif making eggs to order on the buffet. Omlets, scrambled eggs, and fried eggs were allo n the buffet line.
I will cruise with princess again in the future.
