My husband and I and another couple went on a 12 day cruise and land tour to Alaska with Princess. We began by spending 4 days at the Westin Bayshore in Vancouver, a beautiful hotel in a great spot. We have cruised on Princess before and as usual the embarkation on the Coral was a breeze. We had a mini suite all the way aft on the Caribe deck. It's a great location with that outside aft deck!
The food and entertainment were both good and I feel the service was overall excellent. The scenery with the wonderfully informative commentary from the on board naturalist was spectacular. The rangers who boarded the ship in Glacier National Park did a great job also. We did a ship sponsored tour in each port and we were very satisfied. We all enjoyed the cruise but I have to say that we absolutely loved the land tour part of our Princess vacation. The train ride scenery was quite an experience. The Princess lodges in Denali and Fairbanks were very comfortable and nicely decorated. Once again we also did a number of Princess tours and were not disappointed. The only complaint...we took the red eye back to Boston. By the time we landed in Logan we were all exhausted and needed to recover from our vacation.
