Galapagos Legend by Joanne South America May 11, 2003
I went on my dream vacation to the Galapagos Islands onboard the "Galapagos Legend." There are no large ships allowed in the Galapagos, although mine was one of the biggest and carried up to 90 passengers. The crew was great, especially the guides. You make 2 stops per day, and either hike, or sometimes take a Panga to view wildlife. The wildlife is amazing! They are not scared of you, and you have to be careful not to step on them! I love turtles, and was in my glory with the Galapagos Tortoise and snorkeling with sea turtles. All the people were friendly, but they were a bit older than me.
I was traveling solo, but always had someome to talk to. No problems with the ship, well, I didn't think my cabin was cool enough! It was hot hiking on lava rocks, so my shower got a lot of use! The food was good, buffet breakfast and lunch, dinner was served. The appitizers were better than the entree most times. No entertainment, but none needed! After dinner I was so tired, I was back in my cabin to go to sleep!
