CruiseMates' Readers Cruise Reviews

Norwegian Cruise Line Norwegian Majesty Bermuda July 17, 2005

This was my third cruise with NCL, and second aboard the NCL Majesty.

Embarkation through the Lattitudes line, was a smooth quick procedure. Within 20 minutes, we were in our cabin on deck 4.

The cabin, a standard outside, was small but functional. There was enough storage room for the belongings of two people.

Upon arrival, our stewards were there to greet us. They were very friendly and extremely helpful. We were provided with extra bath towels daily, and found towel animals on the bed at night.

The dining experience was extraordinary. Service in the Seven Seas Main dining room was superior. The food was well prepared and artistically presented. The portions were not large, but with apps, soup or salad, it was enough. I always ordered sherbet or ice cream for dessert. Sugar-free desserts are available.

The food at the buffet was decent. We had lunch there in order to eat near the pool. On hot days the pool deck was always crowded.

We dined in Le Bistro on Friday night. I had soup, salad, and a fish entree. The experience was well worth the cover charge of $15.00 Where else can you enjoy fine dining at that price? Maria, our server was very attentive.

We tried to make reservations for the Pasta Cafe, but alas it was fully booked at the times we wanted. We chose to eat at 7ish to allow time to attend the evening's entertainment.

The main shows did not seem to change since last year. Rudi, the acrobat, was back with us. He was fantastic with his famous,"I LIKE YOU." At night, the usual parties took place on the pool deck or disco. I enjoyed the 50-60 night, repleat with twist & Elvis contests, and the ever present Liars Club.

This ship offers a wonderful way to visit Bermuda. If you wish, you can tour on your own. The bus service is very efficient. You can buy a 3 day bus/ferry pass at the public building near the pier. Since we were a group of 6, we shared van cabs to visit beaches on the South shore.

Disembarkation in Boston was easy. On the previous night, your packed luggage is placed in the corridor. It will be picked up by the crew and stored in a secure room. After a leisurly breakfast,we returned to the cabin to wait for our luggage tag color to be called. We filed off of the ship and retrieved our luggage in the terminal building.

We hope that the Majesty will continue in service beyond 2006. We'll definitely sail on her again.
