What a wonderful cruise!! We boarded in New Orleans and when we arrived we discovered that the ship had been late docking so there was a small delay but drinks and cakes were provided and really it seemed very quick. Our cabin was wonderful and we had a crib for our 7mth old and I was very impressed as to how large the room seemed even with the crib...much bigger than RCCL. The dining room staff were very accomodating to us and always got us a table with plently of room for the stroller and the service was quick and friendly and the food was lovely....our most favortite person was the Head Waiter, Florin from Romania he was lovely and was enchanted with our son and every night he asked...how are you Samuel did you have a nice day...did you get to play in the sand...it really was very cute!! The ship had many dining options however every night we ate at the Terraces resteraunt as we loved the staff and the resteraunt so much. The shows were good and there were plenty of entertainment options...one night there were 3 different shows!! On the sea days there is always a big poolside bbq with ribs chicken burgers or of course there are many other options but the bbq was definately a popular option.
The Ports...Cozumel...we have been many times before so we went to Sanfransisco Beach which was very nice and the sea was calm, Roatan was my favorite place we spoke to a taxi guy that took us to what will be the new Mayan Princess Resort for $10 each (and that included the return trip also we didn't have to pay until he got us back to the ship!!), the actual resort is under construction but will be very nice and we got sun beds and an umbrella for $2 per bed and $2 for the umbrella...very cheap and the beach was stunning, also our taxi diver took us on a tour of the island and at one point you are on a hill and can see the sea on both sides of the island and all of the lush landscaping it was just wonderful. Belize we did a tour of the city with a taxi driver for $10 each and we saw the sights of the city and saw the first church built there it was very interesting but we didn't want to do too much here so we made our way back to the ship to enjoy the pool and the buffet...Cancun was lovely...mini America but lovely just the same.We went to the Camino Real Resort which is great and we paid $8 for four of us in the taxi and then $15 per couple for a sun bed that came with a $10 drink coupon card...the beach was small but the water was that lovely caribbean blue and the property lovely...we had a great time watching all of the Pelicans dive in for fish...the ship did tender in Belize and cancun but the Belize tender is very quick, in Cancun the tender takes 30mins to get to the ship...still no worries it wasn't like we were in a hurry!!
To sum this up the ship was so much of a pleasant suprise after reading all of the negative reviews I was a little apprehensive and I was so thrilled to see how lovely it was...the staff and crew were great as were the other passengers...they all knew our son and made a big fuss of him....I think anyone would be hard pressed to remember my name but everyone knew Samuel and their attentiveness and accomodation of our family made this the best holiday ever.
