CruiseMates' Readers Cruise Reviews

Norwegian Cruise Line Norwegian Dawn Bahamas April 11, 2004

It was a dreary day when we boarded the Dawn on Easter Sunday. Unfortunately, the weather didn't get any better until Tuesday afternoon but it certainly didn't stop my husband and myself from having a fabulous time.

The ship is absolutely beautiful. This was our 11th cruise and this ship shines inside and out. We had a balcony stateroom which is the only way to go, especially with beautiful weather. The spa is very modern with every kind of service you can imagine and the fitness center very spacious. We never had to wait for a treadmill or any other equipment.

If you want to eat at any specialty restaurants make sure you make your reservations early especialy for Tepanyaki, the Japanese Steak House, since it only seats 18 at 3 different sittings. The best bargain is Salsa. It's a Tex-Mex restaurant with excellent fajitas and there is no additional fee.

The entertainment is top-notch and the Jean Ann Riley troupe must really be commended. Each show was better than the next and we would never miss one. That's one of the reasons that we've cruised NCL 4 times and will continue to do so. We go to Broadway quite often and the talent onboard could easily compete with the best of them.

We never had to wait on any lines and the service was excellent. Everyone was extremely friendly, from crew to people cruising for the first time.

My husband and I had a great time and would consider taking this cruise again especially since it's so convenient to now cruise out of New York.
