CruiseMates' Readers Cruise Reviews

Holland America Line Zaandam Panama Canal April 23, 2005

The ship itself had many problems. We were in cabin 6161 over the Piano Bar and it sounded as if Barry Blythe were with us in the cabin singing late at night. When we complained to the front desk we were told "Michelle is looking into it" and nothing was done. The people in the next cabin also complained. We finally spoke to Sherry, the guest relations person, and that very night there was no more noise in our cabins nor was there the rest of the cruise.

The toilets on our section of the ship were constantly plugged up .

There was an electrical fire one night.

The ship seems to be badly designed and built.

I'd travel Holland America again but not on this ship.
