This was our first experience with Celebrity. Have sailed on RC and Princess in the past.
Ship: Tired, worn-out and dirty. (Our bathroom had blood splatters on it when we arrived!) Hallways etc all in desperate need of redoing. Public bathrooms were not kept clean.
Sailing was a bit rough on the way to Bermuda due to the tropical storm (alot of passengers were ill and didn;t even come to the first formal dinner). We made a major error by accepting a cabin in the front of the ship on deck 6. Even after we past the storm, we felt and heard the waves hitting the front of the ship all night long.
Crew: For the most part were lovely and courteous.
Food: Just so so. I never finished a dessert b/c they were not worth eating! Meals in dining room were pleasant but the food was bland and presentation ordinary. They do give you an awful lot of food, I would have preferred lesser amount with a higher quality. Not what we expected after hearing the food was supposed to be just wonderful on Celebrity.
Entertainment: just okay, times of shows were awkward; having a late dinner seating and having to go to the show before dinner or miss it was annoying.
Embarkment and disembarkment: well done and efficient.
To Celebrity's credit, there were noticeably less annoying announcements and less pressure to purchase drinks, pictures etc than on other cruise lines.
It was nice to leave from Bayonne, NJ instead of having to fly to Florida. However, the class of ship for this itinerary needs ALOT of improvement. I would NOT do it again.
Bermuda is beautiful but expensive. Spend time seeing the island instead of shopping, no bargains. On the ship, items such as soda card ($43) and drinks were higher priced than other line.
