We just returned home from our cruise this morning. We sailed out of Philly, heading towards Bermuda. This was our second Celebrity cruise from Philly to Bermuda. The first was fabulous. This was not. The food on this cruise was mediocre at best, and that is doing it justice. We were happy to pay the high Bermuda prices instead of eating dinner on the ship. Dinner on the ship consisted of a boiled potato cut in half with a few vegetables and the meat/fish. Nothing special, no fabulous prseentation. The lettuce in the salads was brown and wilted.
They served brown gravy on Prime Rib instead of au jus. The breakfast and lunch buffet as well as the grill were all very good. Now..the cabins..we paid a whole lot of money to have a suite. The suites on the Horizon are not much bigger than a standard size cabin. Our family consisted of my husband, myself, my 10 year old son and 7 year old daughter. When we were all in the cabin at the same time, we couldn't walk without bumping into things, it wasn't worth the money, so needless to say, we were very disappointed in the cabin. The service...was phenomenal. The service and the friendliness crew as well as the beautiful Bermuda were the 3 things that made the cruise bearable. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend the Horizon to anyone.
