This was to be a first cruise of our retirement, unfortunately it will be the last on the Horizon and probably Celebrity as well.
To be brief the food was good and cabin fine, even facilities and entertainment passable.
The problem arose on the third day. My wife who is disabled was intentionally injured by a fellow passenger on a sponsored excursion which led to a stroke and hospitalization in the Caymen Islands for a week before air ambulance home. Other members of our group tried to get help in locating the man the remainder of the cruise since we had to disembark and were given no assistance by the staff. After many months my wife is almost back to where she was but still has walking and balance problems. Please make sure you get the travel insurance, luckily we did, as overseas treatment and travel/lodging expenses are very costly. We incurred expenses into 5 figures.
My complaint is that Celebrity never seemed to care. We received one call from Celebrity's legal department saying they were not liable and have a nice day. We were not interested in suing anyone but it sure would have been nice to know that Celebrity was concerned that one of their passengers had the trip of a lifetime ruined by a fellow Celebrity passenger.
