Celebrity Century is a beautiful ship filled with a wonderful helpful staff. The dining room experience was suburb. My husband mentioned he loved the escargot on Day 2 and he was offered it as an appetizer each night. Our assistant waiter remembered that I liked decaf English Breakfast tea with dessert after only ordering it once. Attention to details and very attentive service was my experience throught the dining room. In the buffet dining room there were people available to carry your tray and find a table.
We attended most of the shows on board and they got progressively better each night so be sure to attend more than one.
There were chair hogs evident on the pool deck but we had no problem getting lounge chairs on the side decks or top deck with plenty of shade and quiet.
My husband, daughter and I booked our own shore excursions while my two sons(twenty something) did two of the Celebrity excursions and were very happy. I was disappointed with Key West we just walked around the town and found it just like your average tourist center. I would recommend doing a boat or water activity here the shopping was very average. We liked the shopping experience in Grand Caymen the best.
The experience boarding and disembarkation were very organized and really did not take that long. The most annoying wait was for the immigration check on the morning of the Key West port. Everyone must go through the immigation process before anyone can disembark in Key West. The staff started by patiently calling the stateroom mumbers that did not show up and after several tries they finally call the people by name. I understand that many people of the neighboring staterooms banged on the door of the clueless people to get them up. After it all the schuttle bug on the ship was that one of the offending cruisers said that he didn't think he needed to go through immigration because he was not leaving the ship. Even after multiple annoucements that everyone must report. So please everyone remember to be prepared to go to immigration when called so your fellow cruisers are not delayed.
Our stateroom attendant met all our needs ie. ice and water always filled, fresh towels, and spotless room.
I found the room set up adequate for two people with plenty of storage. I recommend if you put three in a stateroom, get a room with a drop down bed as the rollaway takes up a lot of walking space.
The only area that I feel could of been improved was the dancing/nightclubs. In the hemisphere lounge the DJ played mostly new age or rap music. In the rendevous lounge and Michael's Club there was jazz and easy listening. My husband and I like to dance to good ole rock and roll and it was no where to be found.
All and all we really enjoyed our cruise on Celebrity Century and we will definately cruise againwith this line and would highly recommend it to others as well.
