Carnival Cruise Lines Carnival Conquest by Chad Western Caribbean November 30, 2003

Well our cruise started with us arriving in New Orleans on Saturday afternoon. We stayed at the Shearton downtown a few minutes from the pier by car. New Orleans is nice but we were there the weekend of the Bayou Classic football game so there were an extra 100,000 people in town that weekend. The Sheraton doesnt offer transfers so you have to use a taxi or transportation company to get around. We used Patio transportation and the guys name was Moses Simeon I will give his phone number if someone wants it. he dropped us off at the pier(not easy to walk to) and we set up him picking us back up the next week and taking us to the airport. He charged us $12.00 a person and didnt charge for my 13 month old daughter. We left New Orleans a little late on Sunday because the ship was behing that day because of bad seas the last 2 days of the trip.(we watched the boat come in at 7:30am on sunday) when they are usually there by 4:30 am. Monday night we had some high winds that was causing the boat to move but what do you expect on the ocean.

Jamaica was ok but not my favorite, it was raining a little when we got there so we took our time getting off and by the time we did it stopped. It was hot and sunny after that. We got on a bus in which the driver says since it was raining earlier that for $10.00 per person he would take us a 1 hour tour of Montego Bay making a few stops here and there to stores to buy things(I think he got a kick back) He then offered to drop us off anywhere we wanted so we went to Margaritaville. It was alright there but we couldnt stay long because of our daughter so we went next door to the beach. It was a nice place and it costs$5.00 a person to get in but was well worth it. The restrooms/changing rooms were in great shape and clean. We spent the day there before going back to the boat. Cayman Island the next day was a fun time. We booked a shore excursion with Captain Marvins for $39.00 per person where carnival charges $69.00 per person and with Captain Marvins you got to go to Sting Ray City plus 2 Snorkling spots where at carnival you only go to Sting Ray city and 1 snorkling spot. You only have a short walk from the pier to Captain Marvins and then they pick you up and take you to thier boat and bring you back after the excursion. Cozeumel is fun, you have to be dead not to have fun there. We booked a deep sea fishing trip online at home like in Cayman Islands and saved $100.00 per person by doing this and not going through Carnival. If any one has any questions please ask, there are things I which I knew before we left that I might be able to pass on now..
